Breaking news: Jamb plans to stop the use of scratch card for UTME registration and results checking.

This should be a good news for all jambites. There is an ongoing effort to scrap the use of scratch card for jamb registration and  results checking.

According to the board’s Registrar Prof. Ishaq Oloyode he said on Tuesday the 20th day of September, 2016,
that the Joint Admission and Matriculations Board (JAMB), will cancel the use of scratch cards to register for and check UTME results.

Speaking at the National Executive Council meeting of the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) in Abuja, he said this would begin next year.
Students would generate a PIN number for themselves from their phone or computers before registering for examinations, he said.
Adding further he said that JAMB would not support a situation where banks and vendors hoard the cards, only to sell them at a higher price
He also challenged NASU to get involved in the ownership of Computer-Based Testing Centres.
